G-Series may face legal action for YouTube channel copyright strike

The music company G-Series may face legal action if it does not provide a satisfactory explanation for the strike on the YouTube channel of the popular Band Shironamhin (Untitled) by June 2. In the meantime, Bangladesh Copyright Office has sent a letter to the leader of the G-Series company, Nazmul Haque Bhuiyan, asking for an explanation of the illegal and corrupt activities.

This letter was sent on Monday (May 26) seeking a written explanation from the management of G-Series, taking into account the complaint of the Shironamhin. According to the letter sent by the Deputy Secretary of Copyright Office, Abul Kashem Mohammad Fazlul Haque, despite the ban, G-Series is using the songs by Shironamhin commercially and performing it on its own YouTube channel. At the same time, Unethical copyright strike was given to the song 'Bandha Janda' on the YouTube channel of Shironamhin.

In this situation, the Bangladesh Copyright Office requested G-Series to give a written response on behalf of their actions by June 2. However, if no written response is received, copyright office will take appropriate action as per Act 2023 in case of G-series.

On Sunday last, (May 19) the band leader of Shironamhin Ziaur Rahman filed a written complaint against the leader of G-Series, Nazmul Haque Bhuiya.
